2027 edition · Clarity before comparison

The context behind
every list.

A useful ranking should make its source, scope, and limitations easy to understand.

The 2027 edition

This is the 2027 edition of CRE Rankings, prepared using sources reviewed on November 8, 2026. The edition year identifies this publication; it does not imply that research was conducted in 2027. Original source dates and ordering notes remain available on each list.

What this directory measures—and what it does not.

CRE Rankings organizes commercial real estate professionals and firms into useful market and service lists. Positions are editorial opinions. They are not ratings calculated from audited transaction volume, client outcomes, assets under management, or proprietary research.

Chicagoland: preserve the reference order.

The Chicagoland specialty and submarket lists retain the names and positions published by TopCommercialRealEstateBrokers.com. Each list links to its specific source. We carry forward the ordering; we do not independently substantiate every promotional or performance statement made by that source.

Other markets: a separate editorial arrangement.

Where a reference ranking exists, this edition uses the same participants and reverses the last two positions. The revised ordering is disclosed on each list. It does not claim that new research demonstrates a change in relative performance.

Where the reference provides no usable ranking, additional candidates are identified through official brokerage, staff, office, or service pages. These lists are labeled “Editorial selection” and arranged alphabetically by displayed name. Their numbers are reading positions, not evidence that one provider outperformed another.

Make the list relevant to your assignment.

An industrial tenant representative and an office listing agent serve different needs. Likewise, property management is different from investment management. Confirm the exact services available locally and the people responsible for delivery.

Use sources to continue your research.

The source review date is November 8, 2026. Reference lists may contain historical or 2026 edition content; that date does not mean each participant was requalified on that day. Staffing, licensing, ownership, service lines, and affiliations can change.

Questions worth asking before an engagement

  1. Who will actually perform the work, and what comparable assignments have they completed locally?
  2. What are the fees, scope, reporting obligations, termination rights, and potential conflicts?
  3. Can the provider supply relevant references and confirm current licensing where applicable?
  4. For management assignments, what are the maintenance, accounting, vendor, leasing, and owner-reporting responsibilities?

Corrections and updates

Use the original source or the professional’s official profile to verify current information. Inclusion does not imply that a person or firm endorses CRE Rankings. This directory makes no claim to include every qualified provider in a market.
